Founder and President of SPANUSA

Manuel Boado, Founder and President of SPANUSA, has devoted his entire professional life to the identification, recruitment, training and development of professionals in both Europe and the United States.

Prior to founding SPANUSA, Manuel directed the Human Resource function of Spain's Iberia Airlines in the United States and Canada. He previously held a similar position at Clark-O'Neil Inc, a data processing company specializing in pharmaceutical sales controls, where he directed the staffing and employee relations segment of a major restructuring initiative. Manuel became involved in diversity issues early on as the leader of the corporation’s Affirmative Action Team.

While working in the United States, Manuel gained experience in labor relations and diversity issues. At Clark-O'Neil he successfully concluded union avoidance campaigns, and as an HR executive with the New York Health and Hospitals Corporation he coordinated the labor relations activities at two major area hospitals.

After receiving a Law degree from the Universidad de Valladolid, Manuel pursued graduate studies at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and received an MA in Industrial Psychology from the Universidad de Madrid. Following graduation, he worked as the Recruitment Manager at a Spanish telecommunications plant of Marconi-ITT, where he introduced psychological and psychotechnic assessment tools.

Fluent in Spanish and French, Manuel has lived in Paris, London, Brussels, Madrid and Los Angeles. He has made his home in New York for over twenty years.

LopezSharon Rosen Lopez

Sharon Rosen Lopez, MA, CC C-SLP, is a Business Communication and Speech Consultant with over 25 years experience working to improve the communication skills of both children and adults.

Ms. Rosen Lopez holds a bachelors' degree in French from the University of Wisconsin, a master's degree in Speech/ Language Pathology from the University of Washington, and certification as a speech/language pathologist from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association. She maintains a private pediatric practice, Pediatric Speech and Language Consulting, has consulted in preschool, elementary and middle school programs in both New York and Connecticut, and lectured in child language development. She has an extensive background in neurogenic disorders, and has worked as a speech/language pathologist at the Westchester Institute for Human Development, Westchester County Medical Center, affiliated with New York Medical College.

Ms. Rosen Lopez expanded her work into adult communication skills. She became an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut, teaching Business Communication to corporate executives and employees. She recently opened her corporate communication skills' enterprise, Speech Arts, offering training in all aspects of communication, including accent modification, speech and diction, voice improvement, skilled listening, telephone etiquette, presentation delivery, and social conversation. Ms. Rosen Lopez credits her success in corporate training to her expertise in speech phonology, her analytic clinical background, and experience with oroneuromotor and vocal function for speech production.

Licensed in New York and Connecticut, Ms. Rosen Lopez' professional affiliations include active membership in several speech/language organizations in both states as well as in the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association. She has twice received the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association's Award for Continuing Education for her dedicated professional growth. She is a member of CORSPAN-- the Corporate Speech Pathology Network, VASTA - the Voice and Speech Training Association, as well as of the Westchester Business Association. She was honored when asked to become involved with the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Rita Weiss is an Executive Coach and Leadership Development Consultant. Rita has coached and trained corporate executives and leaders from around the world, including Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Spain and the UK. Rita is an expert at identifying leadership strengths and diagnosing leadership weaknesses, and then developing strategies and action plans that support leaders in consistently achieving their best results.

Having worked extensively with global companies, Rita has developed specialized expertise in cross-cultural coaching, team-building and professional development. Rita has coached and trained corporate executives and leaders from around the world, including the UK, South America, Europe, India, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia. Her recent clients include American Express, Bayer Diagnostics, GlaxoSmithKline, IBM Research, MasterCard and Wellpoint Healthcare.

Rita brings to her coaching practice over 20 years of experience in corporate leadership development, giving her an in-depth understanding of the demands and challenges of today’s competitive business environment. Prior to establishing Corporate Learning Solutions in 1999, Rita held leadership positions at Bankers Trust Company and MCI Communications. Rita has completed a two-year Corporate Coach training program, and is certified to deliver 360 feedback, business leadership simulations and leadership style assessments.

Rita has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Manhattanville College, where she has taught courses on Leadership and Teams. A member of several professional associations, Rita is a Past President of the Westchester chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and is a member of the Connections Advisory Board of the Westchester County Association as well as the Professional Development Committee of the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Rita holds a B.A. in Russian and French from SUNY Binghamton and an M.A. in Slavic Linguistics from Indiana University.
